Karate and Jiu-Jitsu Integrated Curriculum...

At The Martial Arts Center, we teach Shintoyoshin-Kai Jiu-Jitsu in our Adult program in tandem to our system of Karate-do. This provides versatility in training and a greater understanding of combat.

This system emphasizes balance, leverage, and sensitivity while learning the aspects of falling, throwing, striking, groundwork and basic self-defense. The emphasis in Jiu-Jitsu is on grappling -- both standing and on the ground, although Shintoyoshin-Kai Jiu-Jitsu is known to be a striking art.

About Our Classes...

  • You will get a deeper understanding of motion as you learn Jiu-Jitsu application to your Karate movements.
  • You will learn basic Self Defense against a variety of mugging and striking scenarios.
  • Our goal is to effectively and safely teach you how to Fall, Throw, Joint Lock, Choke and Ground Grapple.
  • You will receive separate rank in both arts as you show proficiency in your requirements.
  • We believe that versatility in training is necessary for the development of a well rounded Martial Artist.
